Hircinus 2013

The nose is clearly perceived licorice and black cherry in alcohol combined with an ash background that in Paternopoli is a distinctive feature.
Body is full, tannins do not grip the mouth and the finish is persistent.

Wine cellar

Maria Regina Tecce is the owner of Regina Collis. The winery was born in the heart of Irpinia between the territories of Paternopoli and Castelfranci in the province of Avellino, home of Taurasi. The company is family-run and perhaps this is where it has been able to find its strength by taking its roots in tradition, in fact the Tecce family has been making wine for four generations following a single thread: love for their land. There are four hectares of vineyards, but another two hectares are about to go into production. In the vineyard, several steps are maniacally followed, from winter pruning to the exit of the bottle from the cellar. To protect the plants are used minimal amounts of sulfur and copper together with integrated control, therefore it is an agriculture without the use of chemical products that are not used even when the grapes arrive in the cellar and throughout the production cycle. Spontaneous fermentation, no clarification and filtration and only a small amount of sulfur dioxide added in the measure of about 10mg/lt. Regina Collis’s wines reflect the climatic trends of the various vintages in addition to the place of origin, and this will lead to different wines year after year The wines produced are the Taurasi, the Taurasini Fields and the fox tail and the total annual production is about 8000 bottles.
