Antonio Mele winerywas founded in 2010 in Mamoiada, a small area of central Sardinia where it is mainly cultivated with Cannonau grapes, with small particles of “autochthonous white” Granatza.

“We have always produced wine from our family vineyard in Basarule. In 2010 we planted a new 4-hectare vineyard, where we initially sold the grapes to the wineries in the area and partly vinified them as table wine. In a few years we have managed to reach an important goal for us, which is to fully vinifie all our grapes from which wines are born that we currently market and make known outside our borders.

Our company is totally Organic.

We work our own vineyards trying to be as little invasive as possible, giving the time and space that nature and its cycles need.

Vineyards are located at 650 m. s. l. m. and are located in an area called “Su hastru and Su Orvu” facing north – east, which in Italian means “La Fortezza del Corvo” motif also taken from the company logo.

From here we produce three main wines: Vinera, Vinera Rosato and Ishopu.

While the Vinera Riserva is born from a vineyard in the locality of Tarasunele over eighty years of age, cultivated as a sapling, facing South.

Our wine cellar is located in the town of Mamoiada, in an old ballroom of the ‘70s.

VINERA ROSATO 2019

Pink onion, slightly veiled. At the opening there are delicate puffs of soil and undergrowth, as the minutes go by there is also fishing and hints of wild flowers.
The entry in the mouth is well balanced between acidity and salinity, the wine stretches well over the tongue even if it appears slightly hasty before being swallowed.
The finish leaves a pleasant trail of salt in the mouth, a sensation not at all invasive. One of the advantages of this wine is its great drinkability, In fact, the bottle ends without you realize it.

VINERA 2019

A lively, elegant ruby color. The nose reveals hints of black cherry under spirits, humus, vanilla and black pepper in the background.
The wine enters the mouth with apparent calm, it is possible for a few moments to perceive a slight softness that crosses most of the tongue, but soon the tannin takes possession of the whole palate.
Although the alcohol content is important, it is well integrated with the other elements.
The development is good, the finish is marked by tannins that leave the mouth in an astringent vice but this allows the wine to be intriguing, a bit arrogant… but of personality
Excellent in combination with braised red meats.

VINERA RISERVA 2017

Dark ruby with garnet margins. The 2017 vintage in Mamoiada was also very hot, a drought that lasted from February to December and that made this wine smoother, more docile than the other reds of this producer. A Cannonau cultivated with traditional sapling, with a wonderful aroma of earth, undergrowth, vanilla and much more. In the mouth there is the elegance of the tannin and the softness of the vintage that make this wine enjoyable and never predictable.

ISHOPU 2019

Bright ruby, beautiful. On the nose you can perceive clear berries, wet soil, humus.
On the palate this wine is not so easy to discover, from the arrogant appearance with its tannins that invade and grip but at the same time captivating with an alcoholic note that tries to smooth out too much energy also given by a maceration with the stalk.
A wine of great character and character, to wait and savor in a few years to find perhaps more balance and less vehemence.
Today it is a wine that gives satisfaction at the table, combined with structured foods such as meats from long cooking. Serve at 16/18 degrees.
