Matteo, tell us about your Winery
La Ginestra is a winery that makes natural wines since 2012, and since its creation, we decided not to intervene in an invasive way neither in the vineyard and nor in the cellar to respect our land and therefore who will choose to buy our wines.
The Winery is part of a larger company that not only produces wine but also cereals, legumes and olives. We breed pigs, cows, bees and run a small farm all this in a total area of about 90 hectares.

Alessandro instead studied Agronomy in Florence, he has always been a passionate “farmer”. With us he applied organic and biodynamic agriculture, but he also experimented innovative techniques in the direction of natural agriculture, such as the dynamization of rock dust, and other experiments that are getting really interesting results.

All production sectors work in synergy with each other, for example in the vineyard are carried out green manure with our cereals and part of the compost derived from the animals we breed, We also dissolve the fodder rolled up along the rows to give even more organic substance to the soil.
We have a particular predilection for native vines such as Sangiovese which is the predominant vine, but we also cultivate international vines that we have already found in our lands and that accompany us from the beginning of our adventure. We love to make wines that are the expression of the place, for this reason we take care of the bunch and bring it healthy in the cellar as we believe that good and natural wine is born from a living raw material that we try to accompany as it is up to the glass, and this is why we do not use selected yeasts, we do not filter or clarify, and we add only a minimum amount of sulfur dioxide in wine.
Currently we also have a line of wines in amphora that is composed of 3 wines, that is a Sangiovese and a Trebbiano with a long maceration and another Sangiovese refermented in bottle in white, then by direct pressing.
In our opinion a good natural wine is born in the vineyard, and in the cellar is accompanied by those who have real skills.

TUTTO ANFORA ROSSO 2020
Pure Sangiovese macerated on skins for 10 days. A beautiful ruby red colour, the nose is perceptible ash, Humus, black pepper and berries. Acidity and tannin in this wine go very well together, neither of them wants to give in and they can integrate in the best way. The finish is persistent and the wine as a whole leaves a good memory of itself.

TUTTO ANFORA BIANCO 2020
Wine produced from Trebbiano grapes in Certaldo, harvested in mid-September with fermentation and aging in amphora. Minimal doses of sulfur dioxide ( less than 20 mg / lt) make this white wine suitable for long conversations at the table. The wine is pleasant and easy to drink. Serve at 8 / 10 ºC.

ABEMUS 2016
This wine comes from a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Alicante, Cabernet Franc grapes. Spontaneous fermentation, no clarification and filtration and aging in old barriques give this wine complexity and fullness of taste.

LA VALLE DEL VENTO 2020
This Sangiovese in purity from early harvest has a beautiful pink colour onion peel, lively and homogeneous. The nose is a basket of flowers and fruit and also aromatic herbs with a delicate impact, not invading at all. In the mouth you can feel all its gracefulness, and the juicy sip gives a great drinkability.

TUTTO ANFORA BIANCO FRIZZANTE 2018
Sangiovese vinified in white and refermented in the bottle. Bright straw yellow color, the nose is delighted by an elegant smoky note and the bubble that is not at all coarse makes this wine drinkable and enjoyable. You could dare to combine it with gorgonzola canapes and in any case as an aperitif also based on mixed frying, and throughout the meal with first courses with vegetables and white meats.
